Quincey "Q" Wendell Sterrett
July 13th, 1986 - April 17th, 2021
Quincey "Q" Wendell Sterrett passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his home the morning of April 17, 2021 in Thornton, Colorado at the age of 35. He is predeceased by his mother, Michelle Lynn Thompson. Quincey is survived by his loving wife, Liliana; his children, Sahar, Naiara, Janaeh, Jay'vonn, Karma, Myah; and his father Theodore Neal Sterrett. Quincey was born in Denver, Colorado on July 13, 1986. He graduated from Arvada High School in 2004. He was a popular guy and a man of many talents! Everyone who went to school with him will never forget his Big Red performance to Hey Ya! by Outkast. Although Quincey was an only child, he considered his closest friends his chosen family. Quincey was a devoted father and a loving husband. He loved spending time with his wife and children. They enjoyed having themed nights- specifically movie nights, karaoke, and dance battles. He always encouraged his kids to do their best in school and enjoyed participating in the school's Watch Dogs program. He was always supportive of every hobby the kids picked up and was their biggest cheerleader. Quincey was an athlete and enjoyed watching sports- always cheering on the Colts and the Nuggets. He was an amazing golf player- one of the best in the state! He loved watching his biggest role model, Tiger Woods (except for the cheating part). Quincey loved cooking for friends and family. He could often be found grilling outside (rain, snow, or shine), or in the kitchen shakin' a bag of chicken. If you were lucky enough to try his food, you will always remember his fried chicken and Q's Famous Dip. His family and friends will miss his one-of-a-kind sense of humor and his cheesy smile. Q loved music and could always be found at Tech N9ne and Deftones concerts. Q will always be a Technician at heart, but he recently fell in love with Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton and would always sing it to his wife. On weekends, he enjoyed going out with friends and dancing the night away with his wife to any type of music- salsa and cumbia included. He worked as a Security Lieutenant Officer for HSS and was Good Samaritan Hospital's Ambassador. Professionally, Quincey will be remembered for being a hard worker and always going out of his way to lend a helping hand. He was empathetic and built connections with co-workers, patients, hospital staff, and Police Officers he worked with at the hospital. He was a mentor to many and gave advice that helped others reach their full potential. We can truthfully say he was favored and loved by many. The visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon St. Denver, CO 80211 on May 6, 2021 from 6 to 8pm. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time, no pictures or videos will be allowed. If you violate this, you will be removed from the premises.
