Rachel Moore Walters 88, of Columbia, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2023. She was born on February 11, 1935, in Bassett, Virginia to Early and Jenny Moore. Rachel married Richard Walters and they settled in Columbia, SC in 1964. This union was blessed with two children. Rachel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Walters, a daughter, Cathy Hall and a son, Duran Walters. Rachel is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole (Chris) Summers, granddaughter Shannon Vieau and great- grandsons Kaden Moracco and Chandler Summers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 1pm in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
