Today, I celebrate the joy of knowing Rafel, a dear friend, bandmate, and genuinely one-of-a-kind soul. Rafel had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him smile, even on the worst of days. His easy-going nature and patient demeanor made him not just a great musician, but an exceptional friend and confidant. Whether you needed a shoulder to lean on or a joke to lift your spirits, Rafel was there with open arms and a witty quip. I'll never forget his laid-back attitude, perfectly exemplified by his notorious lack of punctuality at our gigs. We often joked about it and sometimes even got mad about it! But it never failed: when he did arrive, he would look at you, shine his big smile, say "Paaaaaaaapi!!” with an energy and enthusiasm that made the wait worthwhile, and immediately dissipated any ill feelings. His musical talent was matched only by his kindness, his ability to find harmony in any situation, and his amazing and inspiring courage under the duress of a ruthless disease. As we say “hasta pronto” to our dear friend, we take comfort in knowing that Rafel lived fully, enjoyed his passage through Earth, and is probably making St. Peter anxious as he slooooowly enjoys his entrance to Heaven. I'm extremely grateful to have known him. Rafo, Carmen, thank you for bringing him into this world and let him touch the lives of so many people and make them better. I'll always be thankful for that. Rest in Peace, brother.

Fuiste un gran amigo, nunca olvidaré nuestros tiempos juntos desde los 13 años hasta tu partida. Siempre serás fuente de inspiración, me demostraste más que nadie que a los tiempos malos hay que darle de frente y nunca perder la esperanza. Como dice la canción "cuando un amigo se va deja un espacio vacío que no lo puede llenar la llegada de otro amigo. Descansa en paz querido Rafel.

Mi hermano, siempre estare' agradecido de haber podido compartir contigo por tantos an~os. Desde los dias de las bicicletas, el surfing or simplemente compartir en grupo en la playita de Dorado Del Mar, siempre conseguias hacernos reir y sentir que estabamos en compan~ia de mas que un amigo, un hermano que nunca dudaria de dar la mano cuando mas uno lo necesitaba. Sufro tu partida pero me doy cuenta que ese sufrimiento no es solo por que te hayas ido, sino mas bien porque se que los buenos momentos no volveran y ese egoismo es lo que mas nos duele. Diste catedra en demostrar lo que es ser un guerrero y siempre enfrentar la oscuridad con el brillo de una sonrisa sin igual. Te quiero mi hermano, te extran~o y se que Dios te tiene cerca. Api, Carmita y Rafo, saben que los quiero un mundo y siempre estare' ahi para lo que necesiten. Gracias por habernos regalado un ser tan especial. Dios los bendiga.
