Randy Vernon Miller

Randy V. Miller, a dedicated family man and lover of geology, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019 at the age of 70 while surrounded by his family and friends.He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 3, 1948 to Vernon Miller and Lucille Miller. Randy graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1971 with a Master's Degree in Petroleum Geology and worked for the next 50 years in his field with muchsuccess. On July 31 of that same year, he married Royce Nevils, his newly found soul-mate & sweetheart. They then quickly welcomed into the world his two daughters and son. Through the years, family would prove to be the most important aspect of Randy's happiness.He loved the outdoors as much as music, and enjoyed Colorado mountain hikes when he could get them. He backpacked solo through Europe in the 60's, and was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He was known for a quick joke on any topic and was gentle and subtle with his valuable advice. Randy was an easy going and jovial man that was never quick to anger - his life was a lesson on the joys of patience and persistence. He was the blue print for all men to follow.Randy Miller was wholeheartedly devoted to his wife and family. His selfless existence and life's efforts propelled and supported his family ensuring their absolute well-being. We will miss this unbelievably generous husband, father, grandfather and friend.Randy is survived by his wife, Royce Miller; his children, Amy Miller, Jay Miller and Emily Hughes; his grandchildren; Bailey, Peyton and Sutton Miller, and Cooper, Avery, Lucy and Grady Hughes. He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis York, Brenda Miller, Karen Martin; and his brother, Larry Miller.Celebration of Life, 12:00PM-4:00PM, Saturday, August 10, 2019, Knights of Columbus, 2655 Farm to Market Road 1488, Conroe, Texas 77384.
