Rebecca Wynn Johnson Olson

Becky Olson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went to her eternal rest on March 3, 2015. She was born to Samuel and Mary Gelvin in Tacoma, Washington. In 1960 the family moved to the drier climate of Colorado Springs to help with her respiratory problems. She attended Stratton Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School and Colorado Springs Christian High School. She worked at The Gazette where she met head pressman Patrick Olson and they had a loving 33-year relationship where he helped raise her daughter Courtney. Becky had the original "heart as big as all outdoors." She was a loving caregiver to her mother Mary, was the "grandma/mom" to Courtney's two children: Caleb and Madison. She was the consummate homemaker and would single-handedly cook lavish multi-course holiday dinners.
