Rebecca Bumgarner Owen
March 2nd, 1925 - April 5th, 2018
Rebecca May Bumgarner Owen of Bedford, VA, passed away on April 5, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 2, 1928 in Forest, VA, she was a daughter of the late Christopher Alexander Bumgarner and Rebecca Grogan Bumgarner. She was the widow of Robert B. Owen of Bedford, VA. She is survived by two brothers James Simon Bumgarner (Marilyn), Abner Bumgarner; and one sister, Pansy B. Porter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Edward Bumgarner, Marvin Bumgarner, Maynard Bumgarner, Dallas Bumgarner, Lonnie Bumgarner, Clinton Bumgarner and Essie Bumgarner Paulett. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel.A graveside service celebrating Rebecca’s life will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford, VA with Pastor Marvin Suitt officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 1022 Commerce St., Lynchburg, VA 24504 or Living Word Baptist Church, 4130 Waterlick Rd., Forest, VA 24551 .Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
