Renato Encomienda, MD

THE VILLAGES – Renato Encomienda, MD 90, passed from this life Saturday, May 4, 2019. Born in Mauban, Quezon, Philippines he was the son of the late Ireneo and Sulpilica (Pansacola) Encomienda. Renato was a physician and received his medical training from Santo Tomas University in Manila. He practiced surgery in the Philippines for several years before immigrating to Cleveland. OH in 1975. He was a practicing anesthesiologist for Metro General Hospital in Cleveland, OH until his retirement in 1994. Renato came to The Villages with his beloved wife, Cecilia in 1996. He loved to golf and was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and The Villages Filipino-American Club. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Cecilia (Maxino) Encomienda; two children; Georgeeh Javier and her husband, Edgar of Syracuse, NY; Roger Encomienda and his wife Kim of Land O’ Lakes, FL; a brother, Rogelio Encomienda of the Philippines and three grandchildren, Javee Javier, Isabella and Martina Encomienda. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, at 10 AM. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Philippines.
