Rhonda Sue Aten

Rhonda Aten, age 72, passed away on April 23, 2016 at a Colorado Springs, Colorado hospital following a long illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had retired after many years as being an administrative assistant for an apartment association.Rhonda Sue Ticer was born on September 14, 1943 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to the late Craig and Catherine (Burton) Ticer. She was a 1961 graduate of Fabens High School. She then went to Stewardess School and worked at the El Paso Hilton Airport Hilton Hotel.She married Thomas William Aten on November 28, 1964 in El Paso and together, they raised a family in Socorro. In 1977, she was a realtor for a few years, and began a career at the El Paso Apartment Association in 1981. She retired in 2009 and moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to family in 2010.Rhonda enjoyed being a an El Paso County 4-H Leader, sewing, cooking, the QVC Network, making jewelry and spending quality time with the family. She was a wonderful woman of courage, generosity and kindness.She is survived by her husband, Tom Aten "Grandpartner" of Colorado Springs, son; Rich (Teresa) Aten of Colorado Springs, daughter; Danette Jordan of Colorado Springs, sister; Regina Chandler of Coppell, Texas, sister Rowena (Pete) Anderson of Milsap, Louisiana and three grandchildren; Benjamin, Jada and Jacob Jordan.Visitation, 1:30PM- 2:30PM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30PM in the Chapel.
