Richard Matt Picaso
September 21st, 1941 - February 21st, 2013
Richard Matt Picaso passed away Thursday February 21 2013 surrounded by his family. Born September 21 1941 in Denver Colorado, he was preceded in death by his mother Ann Hrasok and father Manuel Picaso. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 yrs. Effie May Picaso, three daughters; Deborah Alcaraz, Kim Picaso, Kellie Conine, nine grandchildren; Athena Cadena, Demitra McCabe, Troy Townsend, Antonio Sanchez, Brittany and Gabriel Lopez, Jacquelyn Aguilar, Sunnie and Cody Conine, ten great-grandchildren; Ryan and Ashlyn Watson Kylie Hackett, Javannah and Riannah Sanchez, Logan Meyer, Ryan and Josh McCabe, Melony and Sean Conine, Siblings Margaret, Ronnie, Nick, Mark, Mario Picaso and Ralph Fernandez and Greg Hrasok. Richard served his country in the United States Navy and was very active in the community traveling with American Red Cross and delivering meals to the elderly and infirm with Meal on Wheels of Monterey County. He was a union activist and a grass roots political organizer. Richard was a teacher by example and will always be remembered for his strong personal and political views, his adventurous spirit, and his powerful booming voice, strong sense of fun as he played with all his grand and great grandkids. He loved photography, nature and fishing. He was a passionate Giants fan and took many family members to their ?first professional? game. He was also a loyal Denver Broncos fan as well as many other sports including golf (Tiger Woods biggest fan.) He was loved by many and will be truly missed by all.
