Richard "Dickie" Roybal passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 30 th 2018 at the age of 82. Dickie is survived by his beloved wife Carol Roybal and children Gail Roybal, Chery Hendrickson, Richard Roybal and wife Georgia Roybal, Adam Roybal and wife Jennifer Roybal. Grandchildren Niki Barnes and husband Paul Barnes, Justin Roybal, Nigel Hendrickson, Adrian Roybal, Jonah Roybal, Autumn Roybal, Julia Roybal and Annmarie Roybal. Great grandchildren Jacob Barnes, Isaac Barnes, Paulie Barnes and Arianna Parker. Dickie is preceded in death by his parents John Roybal and Tillie Vasquez, and siblings Agnes Martinez, Lucio Roybal, Leo Roybal, John Roybal, Michael Roybal, Gloria Rivera, and his dog Chiva. Dickie was born on October 21, 1935 in Denver, Colorado. He married his sweetheart, Carol, in 1953. He began working for Komac Paint Company in 1954 until 1974 when he went to work for Old Western Paint Company and retired at the age of 72. Dickie was accomplished at tinting paint by eyesight. He had a beautiful singing voice and had the ability to play music by ear. He loved all types of music such as Billy Eckstine, Al Green, Sil Austin, Freddy Fender, Englebert Humperdinck and Ray Price. He was passionate about physical fitness such as running, biking, sit ups and lifting weights. Cooking delicious meals was another gift of Dickie's and he would never allow anyone to leave hungry. He was a strong man who would give comfort to all who reached out to him and had a wonderful sense of humor with the ability to make everyone laugh and smile. He was a wonderful father who provided well for his family and taught them to work hard, be honest, never cut corners and always be there for one another.
