Richard Arnold Stephenson of Lakeland, Florida passed away Friday, June 5, 2020. He was 73. A native of Moline, Illinois, born February 27, 1947 to Perry and Eldora Green Stephenson, Richard moved here in 1952 from Illinois. He is a retired disabled U.S. Army Airborne Ranger. He is also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Auburndale; a two-time recipient of Purple Heart during the Vietnam War; a 51-year member of the American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven; and he Scout Leader for 40 years in Winter Haven. Richard was predeceased by his parents, his sister Alta Church, a granddaughter Tiffany and his biological father, John Robert Zetterberg. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Glenda Stephenson; his sons: Randy (Donna), Brian (Rashel), and Scott (Rachael); his grandchildren: Michael (Amanda), Ashley (Chris), Ryan and Elijah; and his great-grandchildren: Levi, Tristan, and Parker. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 4 to 6 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
