WEST COLUMBIA:Funeral service for Richard Lee Stork, Jr., 68, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Trinity Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Donald P. Davis and Rev. Eddie Coakley. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Stork, Matthew Stork, Rudy Stork, Brandon Stork, Matt Kemp and Patrick Kemp. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this (FRIDAY) evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, SC 29033 or ALSA, (Lou Gehrig's Disease) South Carolina Chapter, P.O. Box 280, Charleston, SC 29402. Mr. Stork went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Richard Lee Stork, Sr., and Julia Hamer Stork. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Stork was retired from the SC Department of Mental Health where he was Electrical Supervisor. In 2001 he was the recipient of the DOAS Outstanding Employee of the year. Surviving is his wife, Velma Kemp Stork of West Columbia; daughters, Vicki Stork Suggs (Larry) of Whiteville, NC and Debi E. Newman (Ray) of Lexington; sons, Scott M. Stork (Mary) of Spartanburg and Ronnie W. Sharpe, Jr. (Becky) of West Columbia; brothers, C. Curtis Stork (Cheryl) and Jim Stork both of Chapin; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
