Rita Patterson Ashton, 88, of Venice, formerly of Portsmouth, Rhode Island passed away May 7, 2011, with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Ashton was a member of Epiphany Cathedral. Preceded in death by her brother, Roger Plante, she is survived by her children Paul F. Patterson and Nancy Zych, both of Venice, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and sisters Cora Chase of Portsmouth, Rhode Island and Thelma Ouellette of Bonita, California.
