Robert Hardage Dickinson, Jr., 38, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015, in Lexington, South Carolina. Robert was born on April 21, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Irmo High School in 1995, and graduated from Limestone College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked as a licensed insurance agent at AAA Carolinas. Robert's greatest joy in life was living each day with his beloved wife, Cheri and son, Brice and nurturing a Christian home. Robert loved his family and friends, and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. He valued his relationships with numerous lifelong friends. His outgoing personality and loving nature was contagious and he made everyone he met feel welcomed and valued. Robert also loved his Carolina Gamecocks! Robert enjoyed competitive sports and played football at Irmo High School. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis. His greatest joy was participating with Brice as a partner in competitive running and supporting Brice's many baseball teams. Family was always his first priority. Robert is survived by his wife, Cheri Leigh Dickinson; his son, Sonny Brice Dickinson; his father, Sonny Dickinson; his mother, Liz Frye; his step-mother, Scottie Dickinson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Marilyn Bevier and Tom Schlictman; his sisters, Tanya Tucker (Mark), Tracy Brick (Morgan), and Erin Ladd (Ricky); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Glen Wheeler; brother-in-law, Bob Wheeler; nieces and nephews; Hunter Wheeler, Skyler Wheeler, Peyton Brick, Madison N. Wheeler, Victoria Ladd, Madison M. Wheeler, Ashton Brick, Jacob Ladd, Bella Brick, Joshua Ladd, Ty Wheeler and Breanna Wheeler, Great Aunt, Margaret Dickinson Masters; Aunts, Kay Dingley, Arden McIntyre, Sandra Bishop, Sheila Seymore (Jimmie); Uncle, Rick Murrell. Robert was predeceased by grandparents, Dr. Robert A. and Nell Dickinson, Alston and Dorothy Murrell; and brother, Richie Winter. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7th at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, South Carolina. Funeral services at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, South Carolina, will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8th, 2015. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a "YouCaring" college scholarship fund for Robert and Cheri's son, Brice.
