Rob Fontaine

**Robert Ward Fontaine, "Bob"** Born on April 16, 1940, in Brockton, MA, and set free on August 23, 2024, Satellite Beach, Florida, after a fierce battle with cancer. Bob was the beloved son of Edith Alma Ward Fontaine Selig and Stanley Lowell Fontaine, and was raised by his devoted stepfather, William Malcom "Bill" Selig. Bob shared a remarkable 63-year marriage with his high school sweetheart, Karen Elaine McDonnell Fontaine. Their enduring love story became a fairytale that inspired many. Together, they raised three children: Robert W. Fontaine II (Kerry), Lisa Marie Fontaine Carson (Paul Curtin), and Mark Edward Fontaine (Jennifer). Bob and Karen were blessed with 15 grandchildren: Melissa, (Quentin) Elizabeth, (Dexter) Brandon, (Jillian) Robert III, (Tori) Quenton, Nicholas, (Rachel) Aiden, Matthew, Christian, Chandler, (Bri) Cameron, Victoria, Nicolette, (Pedro) Grant, and Grace, along with 16 great-grandchildren: Shae, Cohin, Chance, Anthonie, Jacob, Amelia, Olivia, Victoria, Eleanor, Flynn, Ryder, Nidina, Nico, Marco, Camila, and one on the way, Fisher. Known for his sense of humor and love of laughter, Bob was a prankster at heart. He was an avid reader and a fierce competitor in tennis, as well at board and card games. Throughout his career as a salesman, Bob excelled in every product field he entered. His commitment to his church was unwavering, with active involvement in Bible study, choir, and volunteer work at Holy Trinity’s thrift shop. Bob was a man of deep faith, often saying it was a "no-loss proposition." He believed that if his faith was true, he lived a life of community and goodness, always caring for others, whether friend or foe. And if he was wrong? Well, he wouldn’t know it, and that made perfect sense to him. Bob made lifelong friendships and was cherished by his family and friends. Sunday family gatherings were a tradition, and his love and involvement with his children and grandchildren never wavered. Bob loved life, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
