Robert (Bob) Lamar Kennedy of Arvada, Colorado formerly of Loveland died peacefully at the age of 90 on June 21, 2012 at Collier Hospice in Wheatridge, CO. He was born February 21, 1922 in Hot Springs Arkansas to Gus and Delphia (Harrison) Kennedy. He married Elaine Ohlman on July 17, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK while he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. When World War II was over Bob came to Denver to be with his wife and young daughter. In 1949 they moved from Denver to Fort Collins where he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation. In 1953 he was transferred to the Loveland Office. In 1956 he began his career with the Colorado Department of Highways working to the position of highway engineer. In 1968 he and Elaine moved to Denver from Loveland when he was transferred to the Denver office. He retired from the Colorado Highway Department in April of 1983. After retiring, he took up the hobby of making stained glass ornaments and hangings. Bob and Elaine traveled for years to Louisville, Kentucky to attend the Saint James Court Art Show where he sold his stained glass and she sold her hand made china dolls and hand painted ornaments. Bob and Elaine loved fishing, camping and jeeping throughout the beautiful Colorado Rockies. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Elaine, parents, brothers, Alton & John Kennedy, sisters Oneta Hutson, Eurelia Salyers, and Betty Rose Stubblefield. He is survived by his loving daughters Mariella (William) Hardendorf of Wheatridge, Colorado & Betsey (Raymond) Nail of Loveland, grandchildren Ike Nail of Loveland, Bob Nail of Arvada, Rebecca Renner of Micro, North Carolina and Will Hardendorf of Aurora, brother William Kennedy of Cabot, Arkansas, great-grandchildren Samantha, Jessica, Adam, Xavier, Ezekiel and Brayden. Memorial contributions can be made to the Collier Hospice, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheatridge, Colorado
