December 15th, 1941 - July 19th, 2009
Robert “Bob” Kring passed away peacefully Sunday, July 19, 2009 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Bob was born in Peoria, Illinois to Edward and Eunice Kring. He grew up in nearby Bloomington with his three older sisters, Priscilla, Nancy, and Margaret and was active in football and track at Bloomington High School. Following a brief stint at Illinois State University, Bob enlisted in the Air Force in 1963. After four years of service, he returned to ISU for his degree in business. Bob married Cheryl Tabler in 1966 and then moved to Greeley, Colorado to take a position with State Farm Insurance Company. In 1971 he moved to Littleton, Colorado and became a full agent with State Farm, beginning a lengthy career with the company. Bob and Cheryl had two children, Jason and Samantha, and he was active in their many activities. In addition to coaching several little league teams in the Columbine area, he was a frequent sponsor of events and sports at Columbine High School. He even joined Samantha on stage in the Nutcracker Ballet in the role of “Mother Ginger.” During his retirement, Bob enjoyed playing cards with friends, supporting the Denver Broncos, and the company of his beloved cats. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Eunice and sisters Priscilla and Margaret. He is survived by his sister Nancy, daughter Samantha Kring, son Jason Kring, ex-wife Cheryl Kring, and his granddaughter Katerina Kring.
