Robert F. Pietras, 80 of North Port, Florida formerly of Columbia, Connecticut passed away March 22, 2007 at his home. Robert was born May 24, 1926 in Killingly, Connecticut. Robert retired from Brand-Rex in Willimantic, Connecticut as a plant superintendent after 32 years of service. He served during WWII as a gunner with the United States Navy, He was a 5 time past president and life member of the Polish-American club in Willimantic, member of VFW Post #8203 in North Port, American Legion Post #0110 of Port Charlotte, and a life member of the Port Charlotte Elks Club #2153. Robert is survived by his loving wife Helen, two sons, George Mike Rolands and wife Judi of Texas and Kevin Miller and wife Belinda of Pennsylvania, two sisters, Pauline Kaszowski of Brooksville, Florida, and Phyllis Belanger and husband Jerry of Zepherhills, Florida, one brother, Richard Pietras and wife Margaret of Pine, Colorado, eight grandchildren, two great grand children and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine and other brothers and sisters. A private burial will held be held Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida Friends may visit anytime online at www.farleyfuneralhome.com to sign guest register book and extend condolences to the family.
