Robert A. Radke who also went by “Bob” or “Buffalo Bob” and sometimes “The Raider” passed away on March 1, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born on July 13, 1941 in Buffalo, New York and was a snowbird of Englewood, Fl, and resided in Youngstown, New York. Bob was a dedicated and knowledgeable worker who had various careers, including: teacher, store owner, water authority administrator and was a Supervisor of Administration for Erie County from which he retired after 22 years of service. He was a Boy Scout, downhill skier, marathon runner, and a member of various clubs, including: Poker Club, University Club, River Oaks Golf Club, and the Colden Art Festival. Bob had a true love for life. He was a dedicated golfer, golfing in leagues in Florida and New York State. Bob loved to travel the world with his beloved wife Susan and enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels with her. Bob bowled a 300 game, and played racquetball and tennis like a pro. He was an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished athlete who also loved music and played the harmonica, trombone and, most recently, the ukulele. Bob loved to sing and dance to his favorite songs. He was witty and quick with a joke for every situation, and he loved a good cold craft beer. Bob was loved by and will be missed by so many. He was a wonderful loving and devoted husband, son, father, brother and Grampy. Bob faced his debilitating illness with extraordinary strength, grace and dignity. Bob is survived by his wife, Susan J. Radke of Youngstown, NY and Englewood, FL; a brother, Mike (Becky) Radke of Lewiston, NY; a sister, Donna Barnett of Leland, NC; a daughter, Larisa (Michael) Wright of Spring Lake, NJ; grandchildren, Finn Wright and Ava Wright; niece, Amy Radke of Portland, ME and a nephew, David (Jen) Pierce. He also leaves behind cousins, JoAnne (Kenny) Kushka of South Carolina and Debbie (Bob) Bailey of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Radke and mother, Rita Radke. A memorial gathering will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 1:00PM-2:00PM with a luncheon to follow at Landy’s Restaurant (outdoors) in Englewood from 2:30PM-4:30PM.
