Robert "Bob" Carl Rodd, 73 of Carlton died on Monday, September 24, 2007 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born in 1934 in Gary, Indiana to Frank and Thelma Rodd. At age 13 Bob moved to Cloquet where he graduated from Cloquet High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. On January 8, 1977 Bob married Leola Kemi in Cloquet. Bob worked at Conwed from 1953 until 1982. During the 1960's and 70's he also worked part time for the Cloquet Cemetery Association. After leaving Conwed he worked part time as a bookkeeper for Harold's Service in Carlton for a short time and at the Carlton Hockey rink for about 20 years. Bob was a member of the Carlton VFW, a volunteer with the Carlton Hockey Association and was a forced volunteer for the Carlton Daze 5K run/walk. He enjoyed kids and hockey. He was an avid bowler and had been on several leagues. Bob was always very supportive of his wife and family. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; brother, Jack; and sisters, Shirley and Jeanine. He is survived by his wife, Leola of Carlton; children, Tracy (Kristy) Rodd of Lake Elmo, Julie (Patrick) Gephart of Riverside, California, Nicole (John) Rackliffe of Proctor, and Christopher (Anne Marie) Skelton of Fresno, California; 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Mallory, Matthew, Dylan, Darron, Katie, Ty, Chelsea, Derek, Courtney, and Sydney; and two brothers, Frank and George (Arlene) both of Cloquet. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 in the Four Seasons Sports Complex in Carlton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
