Robert W. Sanders, Jr., age 87, was born April 6, 1929. He passed away on July 25, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Arliss K Sanders, daughter Nancy and husband Steve of Arvada, Colorado; son Don and wife Shelley of Portland, Oregon; daughter Cindy and husband Alex of Lakeville, Minnesota, Like a son Gene Veatch and wife Cheryl of Denver, Colorado; grandsons and their spouses: Ryan, Aaron and wife Lea, Nicholas and wife Jessica, and Samuel. Seven great grandchildren; Alyssa, Haley, Luella, Howard, Sullivan, Ramona and Mia. Sister Helen and her husband Bill of Paonia, Colorado; and sister-in-law Wanda of Garden Grove, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Lewis. Robert was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. During the Korean War, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After his service, and medical retirement, he continued to serve his country as a GSA Inspector, eventually retiring as a GS-12. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #91 in Lafayette, the DAV, VFW and was President CLC Veterans Hospital Assn.
