Robert Tallon

Robert John Tallon, 83, of Avon Park, Florida passed away near his home on April 26, 2023. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Essex, Illinois at the age of 5 in 1944. He graduated from Reddick High School class of 1956. A proud US Marine Veteran from 1956 – 1962 finishing his duties as a Lance Corporal – E3. Robert attended Kankakee Community College graduating with honors in the Spring of 1975. He was a skilled craftsman by trade, fisherman, outdoorsman and adventurer. A loving father, grandfather & great grandfather as well as a friend to many throughout his life living his final years in the state of Florida. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, James and Stella Tallon; brothers, Jim Tallon, Rich Tallon and Michael Tallon. He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Jerry) Tallon Mayfield, Kelly (Clifton) Tallon Mann, Vickie Tallon (Ed Crosswhite); son, Scott (Jennifer) Tallon; brother, William Tallon; grandchildren, Angela Chouinard, Robert Mayfield, Lauren Whitehouse, April Reeves, Leah Tallon, Kasey Tallon, Nicholas Price; great-grandchildren, Alexander Mayfield, Marie Mayfield, Odin Senseney, Barrett Whitehouse, Sutton Whitehouse. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A private viewing was held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, Florida. Robert will be laid to rest with his brothers at the Veterans Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
