First Lieutenant Robert Enea Williamson, United States Space Force of Colorado Springs, Colorado ascended to Heaven on May 25, 2023 at the tender age of 34. Robert (aka Bert and Enea) was born in Oxnard, California on March 28, 1989. At the age of 2, He moved with his older brother Eric and parents to Moss Point, Mississippi where he attended Jack and Jill Pre-School. In May of 1994 the family moved to Sasebo, Japan and then in June of 1996, relocated to Tokyo. Following four wonderful years in Japan, he and his family moved halfway around the world to El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain where they would stay for a year before finally returning to the United States and settling in Florida. The first stop was Palm Harbor for two years and then on to Orlando, where he attended Olympia High School, graduating among the top of his class. He went on to attend Valencia Community College and then matriculated to the University of Central Florida where he would earn a master’s degree in chemistry with a focus in Nanotechnology. A few years later after working at Sanford Burnham Research and Catalent Pharma as a Research Scientist, he joined the United States Air Force in June of 2019 and was sent to Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama for Officer Training School. Following OTS, he attended technical training at Vandenburg Air Force Base and upon completion was reassigned to Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs and concurrently transferred to the US Space Force. He loved the outdoors and was an avid climber and hiker, so Colorado Springs was the ideal location. Quoting his squadron Commander and Commanding Officer, “Robert was a trusted Satellite Vehicle Operator executing control of the nation‘s most critical satellite communications systems. His work delivered protected communications linking national leaders to joint coalition forces across the globe. His elite team protects and sustains some of the most technical systems in orbit. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, love of the outdoors and steadfast faith in the Colorado Switchbacks to be better next year.” Robert is survived by parents Ray and Missy Williamson; brothers Eric, Ben and John; grandmother, Micky Coletta; and many additional aunts, uncles and cousins. He is missed but will never be forgotten. Memorial services will be held in Orlando Florida, Granbury Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Pike’s Peak National Cemetery where he will be interred. All those who loved Robert are encouraged to plant a tree in his honor.
