January 19th, 1945 - January 24th, 2024
Rodney Kent Williams of Forest, Va passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Born on January 19, 1945 in Giles County, Va he was the oldest son of Norma June and Oren “Happy” Slusher Williams. He was a graduate of Giles County High School and Virginia Tech. Rodney worked as a teacher, realtor, builder, and a cook later in life but his passion was BBQ. He bottled his own line of sauces and loved nothing more than cooking for his family and friends. He also loved fishing, boating and cheering on the Hokies. He is survived by his daughter Whitney Cobey, son-in-law, Alex Cobey and his beloved grandchildren Katherine, William and Christopher Cobey. He is also survived by his three siblings Carole Carroll, Gary Williams, and Troy Williams, nieces Angela Carroll, and nephews Sean Carroll, Darryl Williams and Connor Williams. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
