RoMayne Edna Anderson went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2018 at the age of 87. She passed away unexpectedly after a brave, long battle with dementia. She never forgot her family that she loved more than anything. She was born December 3rd 1930 in Henning Minnesota to Edna and Alfred Anderson. She worked hard on the family farm and graduated from Proctor High School in June of 1949. That same year she married the love of her life, Norman Ardell Bjonskaas and they moved to Portland, Oregon. Together they raised 3 children, Garry, Linda, and Diane. The young couple opened Normans Shoe Service on Powel Blvd. and she helped Norman run the store. She worked for Lincoln and Allen which later became Graphic Arts. She retired as head of the sewing department at the book bindery after more than 25 years. RoMaynes talents were many. She played a full set of drums with the Sunset Serenaders. It was an “old time favorite” band that she and Norm played in every Saturday night at the Aurora Grange Dance Hall for 25 years among other events. Besides being a fun loving wife, world’s best mother, awesome grandmother, and friend, she taught ceramics, loved to tole paint, crochet, sew, sing, yodel, and bake tons of goodies, especially Norwegian toast. She was the queen of hospitality and loved to cook and feed everyone. She loved her long time Evergreen Community Church family, and enjoyed volunteering in the “Free Zone” handing out clothes to anyone that needed them. She was quite an outdoors gal who fished and out hunted the men. She loved to camp and travel anywhere in the trailer or motor home, making several trips to Alaska and all over the place. RoMayne is survived by two of her three children, Garry Bjonskaas and wife Adelle, Diane Snelson and husband David, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother Darrell Anderson and wife Marlene, sister in laws Joyce and Violet, brother in law Melvin, numerous precious nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Edna and Alfred Anderson, Loving husband of 56 years Norman Ardell Bjonskaas, beloved daughter Linda Brolliar, sisters Joyce Anderson, Ruby and Vina Roland, brothers Douglas, and Oliver Anderson. RoMayne was loved by everyone to the moon and back, and will never be forgotten in the hearts of her loved ones. The family would like to express our unending thanks and appreciation to the wonderful loving care given to RoMayne by Kim Thomas, Jessie Sovereign, Lori Jones, Karla Feaser and grandchildren Hanna Snelson, Lacey Snelson, Nick Bjonskaas. You made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her home and she loved you all dearly. Memorial service will be on Saturday January 13th at 11:00, Evergreen Community Church 16940 S. Beckman Rd. Oregon City, Oregon 97045 Pastor Steve Reif officiating. Service Information

Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home

At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks....
