Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Romulo M. Cordero, 75, died October 7, 2014 at the University of Colorado hospital. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Kathy, his two children and their spouses, Mike and Debbie Cordero, Liza and Matt Girdner, and five grand children Rom was born in Cuenca, Ecuador on October 31, 1938. He was the youngest of 15 children many of which have gone on before him. Rom moved to the United States in 1957 to attend college and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. After graduation he was drafted by the US Army. He was stationed in Germany where he met, married, and started a family with Kathy. After completing his Army service, Rom's family returned to the Chicago area where he worked as an electrical engineer in the design in construction industry. In 1978 he relocated his family to the Denver metropolitan area and began working as a consulting engineer at Swanson Rink. In 1994 he and his three partners started BCER Engineering, Inc. in Arvada. His company grew to over 70 employees by the time he retired in 2004. After retiring, Rom and Kathy traveled extensively throughout Europe and the world both together and with their extended family. They enjoyed splitting time between their homes in Colorado and Florida and spending time with friends, guests, and family. Rom was a loving husband and father to his wife, children, and grand children. He was a visionary, a leader, a mentor, and friend to his partners, coworkers, and associates. A memorial will be held Monday October 13,2014 at 1:30pm at: Rockland Community Church 17 S. Mt. Vernon Country Club Road Golden, 80401
