Ron Baalman

Ronald Baalman born July 31st 1949 in Hays, Kansas grew up in Oakley, Kansas, graduated from Fort Hays State with BA in accounting with later pursuits of achieving a CPA. His early married years were spent in Colorado Springs. After making a start in Colorado, the small town boy moved his family to Houston, TX where he worked for Houston Industries for many years becoming CFO of Wycon Coal and Chemical. In Houston, Ron and Mazie took a leap of faith and began playing adult soccer which created an expanded soccer family. After many happy years in Texas, Ron lead his family back to Colorado where his passion led him to owning his own small business, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Franchises, Colorado Springs/Castle Rock. During these years he became known in his local business networking and the Broadmoor Rotary as the "Chocolate Barron." Ron loved Colorado for it picturesque mountains and wildlife drawing him to a dream of living in Divide. Here, he found his "forever" home the place he was working to make his Mountain Oasis. He is survived by his wife Mazie Baalman of 43 years, his three children Jason Baalman (Jenny), Tiffany Cartner (Robert Cartner)), Robyn Baalman (Jeremy Friar). His grandchildren Calista, Vance, Devon, Gwen, Max, Ashley and Austin. His siblings Roger Baalman, Linda Baalman, Bev Ries,, Kevin Baalman, Duane Baalman and Bruce Baalman. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by Ruth and John Baalman.
