Ronald Eugene Boddy

Ocala - Ronald Eugene Boddy, 84, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 16. He was born in Phoenix City, Alabama of the late parents Lucious and OllieMae (Rhoden) Boddy and raised in Columbus, Georgia. Ronald worked as a civilian at Ft. Benning until he moved his family to Ocala in 1972 and began a successful drywall subcontracting business and worked hard until he retired in 2001. Ronald was preceded in death of his wife, Mary Maddox Boddy, of Columbus, Georgia, to whom he was married 54 years. He is survived by sisters Wylena Fountain (late Reverend Thurman Fountain), and Patricia Frazier (Cortez), son Ronnie Boddy (Kelly Rooks Hadsock), daughter Dee Goolsby (Cliff), granddaughters Diana Grantham (Jonathan), Megan Yancey (Jed), Rachel Boddy, and grandson Nicholas Boddy(Angie). Great grandchildren Hartley Greene, Jordan, Ireland, Tate and Charley Grantham, Finley, Hadley and Nash Clifton Yancey. His best friend and companion Alana Goolsby. Also, many loving nieces and nephews across Georgia and Florida. Immediate family and friends will gather for a memorial service January 2nd, at Sparr Baptist Church at 11:00.
