View Slide ShowRoss Charles Jamison Jr., 76 of Esko, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while in the arms of his of loving and devoted wife and surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Ross was born in Sandstone Township on Nov 27 1937. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI in 1955.Ross worked for the Hanna Steam Ship Co. on the Great Lakes as did all his family. While working at Diamond Tool he acquired his Boilers License and went on to work at the University of Minnesota-Duluth as an engineer. He retired from UMD after 36 years of service. After retirement, he embraced his hobby of 20 years, operating his own meat shop Jamisons Meats at his home in Esko.He married Pearl Nordin together they had 3 children: Carlene, Ross III and Douglas.On March 1, 1991 Ross married the love of his life, Inez McCorison Laitinen. They recently celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in their winter home in Mesa, Arizona.He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Jamison Sr.; a great granddaughter, Alexus Kuglin; his brothers, Steven and Carl Jamison.Ross "The Bear" is survived by his honey, Inez; his children, Carlene (Larry) Kuglin, Ross (Yin Mai) Jamison, Douglas Jamison, William (Tammy) Laitinen, Jimmy (Chanelle) Laitinen, Kristin (Sam) Bolling; his grandchildren, James (Kristine), Scott (Stephanie), David (Sara), Kristin (Den), Jessica, Ross IV, Caleb, Burt, Cassy, Daniel, Tasha (Riki), Emily, April, Billie Jo, Saydee, Arraya, Roman, Cole, Autumn, Sammy, Faith and Elijah; 9 great grandchildren; his mother, Delores Jamison; brothers, James (Bev), David (Judy), Elwyn (Marilyn), and Donny (Marcia); and special friend, Richard, "BooBoo" Hilinski.Memorial Service were held onSaturday, March 22, 2014 in Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
