Ruby Melviner Hott Bowman LEESVILLE: Service for Ruby Melviner Hott Bowman, 83, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Central Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Dr. James Thrower. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Central Church of the Nazarene Building Fund 100 S. Woodside Pkwy., West Columbia, SC 29170. Mrs. Bowman, widow of Gilbert William Hott and Irving Bowman, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Born in Richland County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Elton Walker and Allie Wooten Walker. Her faith was with The Church of the Nazarene; and was retired from the South Carolina State Hospital. She loved music, cooking and to help other people. Surviving are her daughters, Shirley Hott Freeman of Gaston, and Linda Hott Hartley of Leesville; sons, Harold Hott (Brenda) of Lexington, Jimmy Hott (Joan) of Columbia and Donald Hott (Alice) of Lexington; sister, Mary Deans (Gordon); brothers, Raymond Walker (Frances) of Cayce and Larry Walker of Pelion; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers. Family and friends may sign online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
