All Veterans Funeral & Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Russell Troy
August 20th, 1950 - November 22nd, 2018
Russell Michael (Yerachmiel Meir) Troy Russell was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 20th, 1950 to Solomon Troy and Sylvia Davidson Troy, the youngest of four children. He is pre-deceased by his older sister Lois Troy Feldman, formerly of Northridge, California, and has surviving brothers Alan Troy (Linda) of Norfolk, Virginia and Elliot Troy (Barbara) of Evergreen, Colorado. Russ passed away unexpectedly on November 22nd, 2018, Thanksgiving Day, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood Colorado, the result of a heart attack. Russ met the love of his life, Rorey Dietz Troy while attending Erasmus Hall High School. Russ and Rorey were married in April of 1969 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming year. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Colorado to fulfill their dream of living the Rocky Mountain High life. After making a home for themselves in Pine Junction, they were blessed to have their baby girl, Keira Peige Troy, forever the apple of Russ’ eye. In August of this year, Russ proudly saw his family happily extended with Keira’s wedding to Sean Yager. Virtually all of Russ’ working career was related to the construction industry, including starting his own Troy Construction company which built many homes in the 285-Corridor of the foothills, employment as project superintendent and construction operations manager at Village Homes and U.S. Homes, and project manager at Signet Partners, Inc. Russ loved the challenges involved with all aspects of the construction trade, and it showed in the enthusiasm with which he approached each of these experiences. Russ and Rorey built their dream home in the North Rainbow Falls subdivision near Deckers, Colorado, where they planned to live their retirement years together. He loved its location and seclusion, and had close relationships with many of his neighbors in the subdivision. He loved this community, and was president of the North Rainbow Falls Homeowners Association for many years. From his early childhood on, Russ exuded confidence and joy in everything he did, from impersonating Elvis as a three-year-old for his family, to his John Wayne impersonations, to starting his own construction company. Russ’ big heart and sense of humor endeared him to all that knew him. We miss you terribly, Russ. Hopefully, over time our heartbreak will change to smiles, and even laughter, when we think of you. “Baruch dayan ha’emet,” Blessed is the true judge. In his memory, a celebration of Russ’ life will be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2018, 1-4pm, at the Deckers Hall at 8570 South Hwy 67, Sedalia, CO. A light lunch will follow. Denver Bronco (Orange and Blue) attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215 Or The North Fork Fire Department P.O Box 183 Buffalo Creek, CO 80425
