WEST COLUMBIA-Funeral service for Ruth B. Jeffcoat, 88, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201. Chaplain Paul Tomlinson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Senior Care, Alzheimer's Chapter, 3223 Sunset Blvd, Ste. 100, West Columbia, SC 29169 or Plant a flower in her honor. Mrs. Jeffcoat died on Friday, May 23, 2014. Born in Leesville, SC on November 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Holley Bedenbaugh. She was a member of Broadacres Baptist Church. She retired from K-Mart, where she worked for over 22 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and her memories will be cherished by all. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nettles (Tom) of Lexington; sons, Ronnie D. Jeffcoat (Johnette) of Columbia and Pat W. Jeffcoat (Pamela) of Chapin; and a great number of grand, great and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell G. Jeffcoat Sr. Special thanks to Palmetto Sr. Care in White Rock and Lexington locations, and also a special thanks to her caregivers, Nancy Musialik, Rhonda Dodoo and Nicole Shannon.
