Salvatore “Sammy” Emma, Sr. age 87, of Venice, Florida, passed away on June 19, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1936 in Fitchburg, MA and moved to Venice in 2023. He was a meat cutter at DeMoulas for 18 years and retired in 1994. Sammy was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served from 1956-1958 until his honorable discharge. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Club in Fitchburg, American Legion, Moose Club in Venice, proud member of the Republican Party and NAPA (North American Poolshooters Association) of Worcester County where he was also a founding member. Sammy also loved visiting the Casinos and dancing. Most important to Sammy was spending time with his family.
Sammy is survived by his wife Margaret Emma of Venice; two sons, Salvatore Emma, Jr. and his wife Amy of Venice, Daniel Emma and his wife Patricia of Buffalo, NY and a daughter, Patricia Marie Emma of Largo, Florida; two sisters, Lucia Furry and Rose Bissell. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Michelina Emma; father, Giovanni Emma; five brothers, Michael, Lebo, Gino, Joseph, Robert and three sisters, Phyllis, Mary and Josephine.
A viewing will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11:00AM-1:00PM with the funeral service at 12:30PM.
