Salvatore "Sal" La Puma Jr.

Salvatore "Sal" La Puma JR, 72, of Mesa, passed away on November 16, 2017 at home, with family by his side. He was born in Cleveland, OH to Angeline Lena (Cinotti) and Salvatore La Puma SR, on July 5, 1945. He married Sharon Bonnett on May 15, 1965 at Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva, OH. Sal worked in the family owned bakeries in Geneva, OH and Ashtabula, OH before moving his family to Mesa in 1976, where he baked for Smitty's before opening La Puma's Bakery & Deli. He retired from Lenhardt's Ace Hardware and worked in the cafeteria at Stapley Jr High for 7 years. Sal loved to bake, made friends easily and the funny stories are endless. He is preceeded in death along with his parents, by his brother ~ Thomas La Puma. Sal is survived by his wife of 52 years ~ Sharon La Puma; son Salvatore (Deborah) La Puma III of Mesa; daughter Mary Rose (James) Sullivan of Gilbert; grandchildren ~ Cambrea Gordon, Bailey Gordon, Salvatore La Puma IV, and Anthony La Puma. Twin brother ~ Nicholas (Kathy) La Puma of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews also survive.
