Funeral services for Samuel Ronald Godshall will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve McCormick officiating and Dr. Terry Cagle, Pastor of Greenlawn Baptist Church assisting. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dr. G. Theodore Keller III, Eddie Fava, Rhett G. Anders, Richard Pope, Richard Webster and James H. Fowles, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lower Richland Ruritan Club and members of the Redneck Supper Club. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209, with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys Farm in Newberry, SC ? 6655 SC Hwy 34/121, Post Office Box 713 Newberry, SC29108 (803) 276-5910 or the charity of your choice. Mr. Godshall died on Monday, June 27, 2011 at MUSC in Charleston. Born in Columbia, SC he was the son of Rupert Adrian Godshall and Mary Zulee Walters Godshall. He graduated Lower Richland High School in 1955 and went on to major in Industrial Management at Clemson University, where he graduated in 1959. Mr. Godshall worked in the insurance industry and retired from The Farm Credit Bank/AgFirst as Senior Vice President in 1989. Mr. Godshall was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Suzanne Franklin Godshall; and his brother, Rupert Adrian Godshall II. Surviving are his loving daughter, Cathy and her partner Alisa Bouer; Ron?s partner Alice Clarke Sullivan; sister-in-law, Virginia Godshall; nieces, Kerran Godshall Scott, Melissa Siar (Kirk Siar), Elliana Scott and Becky Hatfield; and nephew, Rupert A. Godshall III (Rad); ?Rusty? the family pet; and the apple of Ronnie?s eye, Covey Alexander.
