Memorial

Scott Michael Ivory, 39, of Venice, FL (formerly of Cranford, NJ), passed away unexpectedly on November 8th. He was predeceased by his father, Doug Ivory. He is survived by is mother & step-father, Linda & Ken McGrath, his brother and sister-in-law, Marc & Leanne Ivory, his step-sister, Heather McGrath, his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Cevasco, and his 3 favorite nephews, Connor, Keegan, & Jack. He also sadly leaves behind, a new love in his life, Shawna Jones, who he had met while on a job in Houston. Scott was born in Summit, NJ, raised in Cranford, NJ and had recently made his home here in Venice. He graduated from Cranford High School, and then went into the working field of the ""trucking & rigging"". He had a passion for the industry he was in, was excellent at what he did and took pride in every job that he had. A lot of his natural skill for the work that he did, was learned from watching his dad as a kid, who had owned an excavating company. Observation & ""hands on"" was his ""formal education""!! He worked for a short period of time for Bay Crane out of Hillside, NJ, but then moved on to W. J. Casey Trucking & Rigging out of Branchburg, NJ. His final run, though, was with J. Supor & Son Trucking & Rigging out of Harrison, NJ. You would have never found Scott in an office setting… it was outside & on the road that made him the happiest. Scott had a big heart, a love of family & a passion for life. He was known for his beautiful blue eyes, the dimple in his cheek, the ""twinkle"" in his eye & that little ""impish"" smile that would capture your heart every time!! 😊 He loved life & lived it to the fullest, but strictly on his own terms. He marched to the tune of his own drummer, and if you wanted to join him, you were welcome to come along. If not, he'd simply say, ""that's fine, whatever, it is what it is!!!"" To know him was to love him… from both family & friends, thank you for the 39 years we were lucky enough to spend with you. You made a difference in so many of the lives you touched. You're leaving us way too soon, and you will be missed more than you'll ever know!! Rest comfortably dear one, and ""keep on truckin""!! Farewell until we meet again… Scott was passionate about the organization for autism, so in lieu of flowers, and in his memory, a donation to Autism Speaks would be greatly appreciated. www.Autismspeaks.org Service Information Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2020 Time: 10:00 am Farley Funeral Home - Venice Chapel Address: 265 Nokomis Avenue South Venice, FL 34285 941-488-2291 | Map
