Scott Grange Jeffs
April 24th, 1934 - October 9th, 2015
Each week, when he dressed for church, Scott Grange Jeffs pinned a single rose to his lapel; adding a little beauty to an ordinary Sunday. It is how he walked through life - adding more beauty, and little something special to each life he touched. Scott was born to Mark and Agnes Jeffs, April 24th, 1934 in Mohrland Utah. He grew up with his older brother in Castledale where he found his love of snow skiing. He was always athletic and went on to letter in five different sports at Utah State University. It was there that he won the heart of his first wife, Barbara Jolley. They fell in love and, after Scott served in the army, they married in the Logan temple July 7th, 1959. Scott and Barbara moved to Arizona. They had two children, Jodi and Shaun. They laid down roots on Vineyard street where they would stay for the remainder of both of their lives. Their connection to the neighborhood, their friends, and their LDS ward ran deep. Barbara passed on in 1994. Scott took an interest in everyone he met and never forgot a name. His quick wit and love for people found him with many friends. Spending time with the people he cared for was a priority for Scott, and you would often find him fishing, hunting, water skiing, playing softball, and above all golfing. In 2003 his lively spirit and gentlemanly manner endeared him to Mary Agnes Allen and he married his second sweetheart. Friday, October 9th, Scott passed from this world leaving behind him an abundant wake of love. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16th a viewing at 9:00-9:45, funeral 10:00am at the LDS Church Beverly Building 1054 W. 2nd Place, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vineyard Ward Missionary Fund or the LDS Humanitarian Fund. Scott leaves behind: His wife Mary His children, Jodi and Neil Ethington, and Shaun and Katherine Jeffs His grandchildren who all aspire to be nearly as cool as their Papa Erica Ethington, Bryce Ethington, Austin and Karrie Ethington, Caleb and Ariel Ethington, Ashley Jeffs, Brenton Jeffs, Garrett Jeffs, and Luke Jeffs His great grandchildren Summer Ethington and Blake Ethington who will grow up hearing stories of what a great man he was, and tales of the mischief he enjoyed. His step children Justin and Christina Allen and their children Taylor, Ashley and Tatum, Sarah and Craig James and their children Jesse and Hannah, and Cassie Allen who have lovingly embraced him as their own.
