SFC "Ret" Joseph McGauley
January 2nd, 1969 - July 13th, 2011
SFC Michael Joseph "Joey" McGauley of Lexington passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 13, 2011. Born on January 2, 1969 in Columbia, he was the son of Pamela Bond of West Columbia, and Joseph M. McGauley, Sr. and his wife Dianne of Junction City, KS. He was predeceased by his grandparents S. Juanita Kyzer of West Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. John F. McGauley of Columbia. The funeral service for Mr. McGauley will be held at noon on Thursday July 21, 2011 at Thompson Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia. The burial will follow at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGauley is survived by his loving sons, Justin and Cody, and his former wife, Michelle Durham, of Winnsboro; a sister Angela and her husband Edgar Alvarado; niece, Savannah, and nephew, Samuel, all of West Columbia. He was surrounded during his short life by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will all miss him greatly.
