Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten
March 11th, 1987 - December 2nd, 2016
Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten, 29, of Gilbert, SC passed away on December 2, 2016. He was born in Tacoma, WA to Mary Ann Markem Scott of Lexington, SC and Walter Ray Wooten of Gilbert, SC. Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten is a graduate of Airport High School, class of 2005. He was a member of the JROTC Drill Team for four years where he then joined the Army and SC National Guard which included serving two tours in Iraq. He was a member of the Ft. Riley Mustang Club in KS. Sean was involved with his son's Boy Scout, Pack 60. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and son and he will be missed by the many lives he's touched. Sean is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Marie Martinson Wooten of Gilbert, SC; their son, Hunter Ray Wooten; his sister, Shannon Zakes of Gilbert, SC; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvie Markem of AL and Vera Parreira of Leesville, SC and Ms. Katie Zakes Wooten; as well as many family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara Stewart and Lesley Wooten; and cousin, Trent Markem. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lykesland Baptist Church, 2712 Trotter Rd., Hopkins, SC on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Noon. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Gardens on Old Dunbar Rd.
