Sharon Ann Henry
October 18th, 1940 - February 17th, 2010
Sharon Ann Henry passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 18, 1940. She was the 3rd of 6 children of Frances and Helen (Curran) Feeney. She attended St. Agnes High School, St. Vincent School of Nursing (1961), Marquette University (BS in Nursing, 1963) and Indiana University (Masters of Nursing Education, 1964). She spent many years practicing nursing in hospitals, teaching nursing on both the RN and LPN level and, ultimately, providing hospice care to those in need. Sharon and Jim met on a blind date set up by Jim’s sister and Sharon’s roommate while Sharon was attending St. Vincent School of Nursing. They dated from 1960 until Sharon’s graduation from Indiana University in June, 1964. After their wedding in Indianapolis on June 6, 1964, they moved to Chicago and raised their children in the Chicago-land area including Villa Park, Lombard and Crystal Lake, IL, followed by Crown Point, IN. After they retired in 1996, Sharon and Jim moved to Carmel, IN. They then “re-retired” when they moved to Florida full-time in 2003. Sharon is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim, their children Colleen (Salinas, CA), Lynn (Jerry) Wheeler (Pacific Palisades, CA), Jim (Mary) Henry (Stow, MA), Karen (Tim) Gallagher (Washington, DC) & Scott (Colleen) Henry (Concord, CA). She is survived by 8 grandchildren, JB, Will, Megan, Mike, Ben, Jimmy, Kevin & Cassidy. She is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
