Sheila Castro-Lucero 1971 - 2023 Sheila Denise Castro-Lucero, known to her loved ones as Nina, passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 52 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on August 1, 1971, in Lamar, Colorado to Joe and Barbara Castro. Sheila is survived by her husband, Andrew Lucero, her father Joe Castro, her mother Barbara Castro, her sister Sophia Salinas, her brother Frank Ortiz, her grandfather George Benabides, her nephew Anthony Castro, Cory Ortiz and Colby Ortiz, and her nieces Alijah Salinas, Christina (Aaron) Sandoval also, Uncle Anthony Benabides (Carmen), Aunt Liz (Kevin), Aunt Silvia (Andy), Uncle Robert (Tony), and her Aunt Delores Benabides, along with many cousins. Sheila was preceded in death by her grandmother Frances Benabides, her grandmother Connie Castro, her uncle Gilbert Banuelos, and her uncle Ralph Fernandez. Sheila had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. She was a dedicated fan of the Denver Broncos, always cheering for her favorite football team. Sheila loved to travel and capture beautiful moments through her photography especially of the moon. She had a passion for hugs and kisses, always making those around her feel loved and cherished. The funeral services for Sheila will be arranged by Romero's Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado. The details of the services will be provided by the funeral home directly to the family. Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life of Sheila Denise Castro-Lucero. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
