July 15th, 1937 - April 26th, 2023
Shirley Marie Mead, age 85, of Wrenshall, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, April 26th, with her family by her side. She was born July 15th, 1937 in Crosby MN, the daughter of Gladys (Wolford) and Melvin Bayliss. Shirley worked at the Junction Oasis truck stop for 30 plus years. She loved spending time with her family, playing cribbage, baking, and camping. Most of all she loved Duane, her husband of 66 years. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Fern and Adeline (Brand) Mead; brothers, Roger Bayliss, Ken Bayliss, Jerome Bayliss; sisters, Lillian Davis, Marlene Bayliss; brothers-in-Law Les Wycoff, Tom Nephew, Lesley Mead, Earl Mead; sisters-in-law, Lois (Roger) Bayliss, Violet Mead; daughter in law, Denise Mead; son in law, (Parv) Parviainen. She is survived by her husband; Duane, her children; Harold Mead, Henry (Chris) Mead, Holly Parviainen, Fern (Tammy) Mead, Harley (Elise) Mead; sisters, Audrey Wycoff, Jeanine (Jerry); nephew, Beverly (Jim) Hofmann; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Ken) Bayliss, Lois (Jerome) Bayliss, Donna Wilson, Lee (Earl) Davis-Mead; brother-in-law, Gordy (Lillian) Davis. Shirley was blessed with 14 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Shirley’s family will gather for a private celebration of life at a later date.
