Stefanie Kay Smith Hartsough, 31, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born on May 14, 1986 in Longmont, Colorado to Horace David Smith and Nancy Kay (Smith) Fales. In the Spring of 2002, Stefanie's brother, Kevin, introduced her to the love of her life, Jeffrey D. Hartsough, and they tied the knot that bound them together February 21, 2003. They have two wonderful children, Trinity R. Hartsough, 11, and Dane A. Hartsough, 10. Stefanie has been a loving military wife who was able to be a stay at home mom to give stability to her family, and achieved her goal of becoming an RN, BSN, graduating Magna Cum Laude from UCCS Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-EL College of Nursing in May of 2017.Being a role model in the importance of education, fitness, and healthy living, she was an inspiration to others to strive forward to achieve their goals. She recently purchased a mountain bike to join her husband and family in this sport, saying "If you can't beat them, join them". She was a surrogate mother to an awesome girl to bless a family who had struggled to have a family of their own. Stefanie is survived by her husband, Jeff; two children, Trinity and Dane; her mother, Nancy; father, Dave (Pat); brothers, Kevin, James, and Michael Smith; and sister, Virginia. By marriage she is survived by her father-in-law, Joe Hartsough; mother-in-law, Mary Beth McCormick; two sisters, Kim and Heather; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Smith. A Memorial to Celebrate Stefanie's life will be held, 10:30AM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
