Stephen Paul Martinez

Stephen Paul Martinez, of Tempe, AZ, passed away on November 10, 2019 at the age of 75. Stephen was born to parents Hugo and Lois Martinez on May 24,1944 in Bedford, IN. He grew up as the eldest of two brothers and attended Cathedral High School and Butler University. He was a Veteran, having served in the army during the Vietnam War. In 1968, he married Barbara Babcock and they had two daughters. Stephen is survived by his wife, Barbara Martinez; his two daughters, Maria Martinez and Gina Zuluaga; sons in law Christopher Clair and Javier Zuluaga; and three grandchildren, Luke, Tessa and Brooke Zuluaga and his brother Bryan Martinez. Stephen retired from AT&T in 2000, after working 35 years as a Purchasing Manager. He then relocated with Barbara, joining his daughters and grandchildren in Arizona. He worked part time at both Club West and Foothills golf courses in Ahwatukee, AZ. Stephen was dedicated to his family, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, walking his dog and improving his golf game. He was liked by everyone who met him and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2019, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Aunt Chilada’s, 2019 W Baseline Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283.
