Susan D. Coons, 73, of Venice, FL passed away April 15, 2015. Susan was born July 17, 1941 in Torrington, CT to Frances (Carey) and Seth Brown. She worked at The Venice Gondolier for 30 before she retired in 2005. She graduated from high school and did a year in college. Her hobbies were gardening, Watching golf and taking care of her cats: Tiny, Twinkie, Cali, Buddy and Blackie. She was always in the dirt every Sunday weather permitting her. Survivors include her three children: Daughter Karen Nissley of Sarasota, FL; Daughter Kathleen Unger of Venice, FL and son Charles Coons, IV of Venice, FL; Grandchildren include Rebecca Kepner of Englewood, Fl; Michael Brobst of Englewood, Fl; Robert Oldert of Venice, Fl; Jean Oldert of Venice, Fl; Dillon Unger of Venice, Fl; Wil Coons of Venice, Fl; Great Grandchildren include Rommel & Ethan Kepner of Englewood, Fl. Memorial Donations may be made to St, Francis Animal Rescue at 1925 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fl 34293. Inurnment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery.
