Susan went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Granada, Colorado to Josephine and Ramon Guerrero along with her four sisters, Eulalia, Fernanda, Isabel and Frances. At a young age, she and her family relocated to Denver. She attended North High School and graduated in 1959. Everyone that knew Susan knew how much she loved music, she played the guitar and piano at a very young age and loved to sing and entertain. Carrying her love of music with her throughout her life, she pursued a career as a singer in the trio Arco Iris, allowing her to perform in various venues throughout Denver. In addition to music her hobbies were gardening, sewing and cheering on the Broncos. In 1960, Susan married Felipe Mendoza, they went on to raise three daughters and five sons. Susan is predeceased by her husband, Felipe Ruiz Mendoza, her parents Ramon and Josephine Guerrero, and her sisters; Isabel Ortiz-Sheldon, Eulalia Barger and Fernanda Tomatos-Stroud. She is survived by her sister, Frances "Kika" (David) Sutherland and her eight children; Rita Bonilla, Victor (Susan) Mendoza, Arthur (Dominga) Mendoza; Angela (Joe) Paura, Leonard Mendoza, Michael (Angela) Mendoza, Quincy Mendoza, Stephanie Mendoza; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 at Romero's Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon Street, Denver, CO 80211. Viewing 5:00-6:00 p.m., 6:00-7:00 funeral service. Internment will be at a later date in a private ceremony. Reception immediately following funeral service. Her beautiful and amazing life will forever be cherished, she will be greatly missed.
