Synnove A. Pina
August 29th, 1931 - March 28th, 2023
Synnove A. Pina age 91 of Sarasota, FL passed away on March 28, 2023. Synnove was born in Manhattan, NY, and grew up in Washington Heights NYC. She later lived in Westchester County, NY, before retiring in Caroga Lake, NY, and Sarasota, FL. Early in life, she worked as a personal secretary for a New York City newspaper and later became a homemaker and loving mother of five children. Synnove and her husband Wally were childhood sweethearts and were happily married for 71 years. Synnove loved spending time with family, painting, and being outdoors, especially hiking, cross-country skiing, and being on the water. She was one of the longest members of over 40 years of the Sons of Norway in New York and Sarasota, FL, remaining a member until the club folded. She was also a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota, FL. Preceding her in death are her sons Gerald, Robert, and Michael Pina. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wallace Pina; daughters Susan (William) Barczak, Amanda (Michael) Kulaw; daughters-in-law Christy Pina, and Annie Pina; grandchildren Jennifer (Bryce) March, Samantha (Craig) Young, Veronica Barczak, Jason (Chris) Pina, Christopher (Mckaila) Pina, Jonathan Pina, and Andrew Pina; great-grandchildren Calvin March, Juniper Young, and Jocelyn Pina. A service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 10:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota, FL. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church at www.faithlutheransrq.com or Tidewell Hospice at https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/.
