Tauno Edward Salo, 81, of Cromwell, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Villa Vista Nursing Home, Cromwell. He was born in 1928 in Cromwell, the son of Emil and Minda Salo. Tauno attended Eagle Lake School. He married Helen Wieber on December 5, 1959 in Kettle River. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1998; his son, Henry in 1969; his parents; a brother, Frank; a brother-in-law, Louis Wieber; a sister- and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Ray) Kravik and his mother-and father-in-law, Henry and Marie Wieber. Tauno is survived by three daughters, Jan Salo and JoAnn Salo, both of Cromwell and June Ninneman of Madison, MN; three grandchildren, Jenni and Kristin Ninneman and Jayden Jimoh; very special in-laws and their families, Harold and Delores Wieber of Montevideo, MN, Marvin and Marie Wieber of Sioux Falls, SD, John and Betty Wieber of Clara City, MN and Mary and Wayne Heyd of Maynard, MN; special friends, Larry Gates, Mike Childs and Roger Fetters and many other family and friends. The family wishes to express their grateful appreciation to the staff of Villa Vista Nursing Home for their excellent care of Tauno. Memorial Services were held on Friday, March 26, 2010 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, followed by lunch in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Villa Vista Nursing Home.
