West Columbia - Texas Wayne Nation, 23, of West Columbia, SC passed away January 27, 2015 at Duke University Hospital Durham, North Carolina. He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina to Terry and Robbin (Owens) Nation. In addition to being survived by his parents, he leaves the love of his life, Jessica Rose Oswald; his sister, Terie Elaine Brooke Nation of West Columbia; his niece Emma Grace Peeples; his grandparents Dewey and Garrett Nation of Greenwood, SC; Patricia and Robert Owens of Jacksonville, FL; Connie Shearin of Ware Shoals, SC, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Texas graduated from Airport High School in West Columbia in 2009. He was a pro shop assistant at Lexington County Tennis Complex. He was an avid sports fan, with interests that included tennis, golf, NASCAR, football, baseball, and hockey. He was very intelligent and self-sufficient, teaching himself guitar, piano, and a bit of saxophone. He was also a huge fan of comedy, and was well known for his huge smile and quirky sense of humor. He loved to make people smile and laugh. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 2:30PM. Celebration of Life services to follow at 3:30PM. Those desiring are invited to make memorial contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Carolina, or Happy Wheels Inc. of SC, or the upcoming B106.7 Radiothon benefiting Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
