WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Thelma Culp Andrews, 91, of West Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Barron Funeral Home in Chester, SC. Reverend Lawrence Dennis will be officiating. Burial will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens, 945 W. End Road, Chester, SC 29706. The family will greet friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Andrews passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, born in Edgemoor, Chester County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Elbert L. Culp and Elizabeth Garrison Culp. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church and retired from Civil Service, where she worked as a court reporter for the Federal Government. Surviving are her sisters, Nell Culp Roddey of Blackstock, Ailein Culp Spencer of Chester, Margaret "Tot" Culp Kennedy of Chester, Helen Culp Bagby of Cummins, GA and Alice Culp Abston of Columbia; brothers, Elbert L. Culp, Jr., of Salisbury, NC, Barney L. Culp of Chester, Robert M. Culp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Allen B. Culp of Chester; special sister-in-law, Donna Boozer (Hayne) of Greenwood, SC. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Neal and John Culp. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coorporative Ministries, Box 1705, Columbia, SC 29202 or Park Street Baptist Church, 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 will be assisting the family.
